Welcome to our village, Tarporley.

With a population of about 30 persons, Torpelei is recorded in the Domesday Survey as being mainly 'waste'. A 13th century charter allowed agricultural trading to flourish and with it a new prosperity for the township and surrounding district.

Situated on a principal coaching route expansion continued into the 19th century but now with a widening range of goods and trading on offer.

In more recent times the building of the bypass heralded new housing and commercial developments attracting an influx of new businesses and services for an increasingly modern population.

As we fast approach 2007, Tarporley Locator has been created to meet the online needs of our busy and popular village in Cheshire.
